Our Facebook acquaintance Anila Groft frequently posts news that people should plant gardens
in their front yards. In the Southeast district of Portland, the whole neighborhood has followed
her advice. And their are very few fences within this very human scaled community.

Since 1995, Portland Institute for Contemporary Art has championed the practice of contemporary
artists from around the world, driving vital conversations about the art and issues of today.
PICA presents artists from visual and performing art backgrounds and embraces
those individuals who exist at the border of genres and ideas.
