In 2014, Eiko Otake started a solo project: A Body in Places. The project aims to explore
placing her body in non-traditional venues to create performances that are specific to a
place, but also using her body as a conduit to different places she has also performed,
accentuating both the environment and different kinds of people:
those who watch eagerly, those who ignore, and those who fall somewhere in between.
